Buying a brand new camera could be intimidating with all of the options, prices, and technologies out there. I have created a list that highlights what I believe to be the best mirrorless camera’s available to you this year.

Best Mirrorless Camera for Sports Photography

For this category, I have chosen Sony’s A9iii. The A9ii is a spectacular camera that was released 2024 which introduced a new technology known as “global shutter”. This technology will help prevent warping of things that are moving at high speeds. It has a maximum shutter speed of 1/80,000 of a second and can shoot up to 120 frames per second which basically means you can capture nearly anything you throw at it. It has a stacked 25 megapixel full frame sensor with an impressive 8 stops of stabilization. There are many great lens options for this camera’s E mount that would be great for sports such as Sony’s 70-200mm 2.8 GM/GM ii, 200-600mm 5.6-6.3, and many more from Tamron and Sigma.

Let’s start with the ergonomics which is just a fancy way of saying how it is built. This camera is inspired by Nikon’s older film cameras that were fully manual. They re-built the camera in this fashion but of course made it digital with all of the new technologies that mirrorless cameras have to offer. The camera has manual knobs to set your shutter speed and ISO which is a great for anybody that is learning photography for the first time.
